Related Projects
- Pasco County Master Water Supply Plan - Pasco County, FL
WRA developed a 20-year water supply master plan for Pasco County, Florida. The plan identified demand projections for major use groups and water supply sources to meet those demands including demand management techniques, reuse, groundwater, surface water and desalination options.
- Reclaimed Water Study - St. Johns River Water Management District
WRA developed a report of current information regarding the beneficial uses of reclaimed water in Florida that highlighted the latest advances in reuse technology, regulatory initiatives and funding incentives. This report is used by the SJRWMD to encourage local governments to develop reclaimed water projects for residential communities.
- Pine Level Water Optimization Analysis - IMC Agrico
WRA was the project manager of an interdisciplinary team that determined the water needs and best utilization of both traditional and alternative water sources for the proposed 17,000-acre Pine Level phosphate mine in Hardee and DeSoto Counties. This information was used in developing strategies for the development of water supplies and the Water Use Permit for the mine.
- Water Resource Operations Advisor - Hillsborough County, FL
WRA provides expert scientific, technical and policy services to the County administrative, legal and water department staff related to growth management, water management and environmental issues. WRA is also actively involved in the review of the new TBW water resource projects currently being implemented for the Tampa Bay Region.
- Bullfrog Ck. Watershed Management Plan - Hillsborough County, FL
WRA assisted a multidisciplinary team of experts to develop a management plan for this Hillsborough County, FL coastal watershed. The plan identifies watershed management opportunities in this coastal river basin. The plan contains stormwater, water quality, water supply and environmental considerations for long-term maintenance and enhancement. Facilitated a series of public information and input sessions with affected residents. WRA provided field reconnaissance, data collection, water quality sampling and regulatory advice in the development of this study.
- Inundation Mapping: Tampa Bay Regional Reservoir - Hillsborough County, FL
WRA was the project manager of a multidisciplinary team of experts to develop inundation mapping downstream of the proposed Tampa Bay Regional Reservoir in southern Hillsborough County. Along with its project management duties, WRA also collected the necessary hydrologic and hydraulic data needed to run the FLOODWAV Model.
- Water Use Permitting: University Park Golf and Country Club - Sarasota, FL
WRA developed the necessary information to add water to an existing Water Use Permit to supplement for both golf course and common area irrigation requirements. This was done in the Most Impacted Area of the Southern Water Use Caution Area where access to the Floridan aquifer for new quantities is prohibited. Design ultimately tapped the Intermediate aquifer for quantities.
- Water Use Permitting: Panther Ridge Communities - Manatee County, FL
Developed new quantities of water from the Floridan aquifer within the Most Impacted Area of the Southern Water Use Caution Area where access to the Floridan aquifer for new quantities is prohibited for this proposed development. Quantities were relocated from exiting permitted sources to Panther Ridge.
- Offsite Environmental Mitigation - Tampa Bay Region, FL
WRA has developed offsite mitigation opportunities for developers within the Southwest Florida Water Management District. This allows the development community to create or preserve wetlands offsite rather than completing mitigation on their project area.
